I am interested in the notion of work as a creative activity: the action of creating as a necessity.  There is a reference in my work to the decorative, the feminine and Nature. Within the decorative there can be  a deeper meaning than at first glance.  The material takes on the role of protagonist. By observing and listening to the material; dirt, leaves, tea, sticks I am guided to a form.  I believe there is an intelligence within the material. As poet, Muriel Rukeyser, has said, “What would happen if one woman told the truth about her life?
The world would split open”,  I like this idea of splitting  open the world with art.
